warfare on his former colleagues. he's also a former navy reserve lieutenant, and is accused of firing on four officers today, one is dead. dorner is also wanted in connection with a double homicide in irvine, where the daughter of a retired police department captain, monica quan, and her fiance, keith lawrence, were killed in the parking lot of their apartment. dorner is suspected of being on the run since sunday, and police warn he is armed and dangerous. and according to a chilling manifesto he posted online, dorner's shooting spree targeted officers and hair families and it isn't over yet. antonio villaraigosa is urging everyone to be alert as it isn't over yet. kyung lah is on the scene of the first shoot this morning. what can you tell us about this breaking news we have that they've been able to identify this burnt vehicle as dorner's vehicle? >> reporter: well, just about 90 minutes ago, we did get a report that a car was on fire, that police had found this burned out shell of a vehicle, and there were a lot of questions as to whether or not that's his car. well, they are now c

this morning on the shooting death of a former navy s.e.a.l. known as the deadliest sniper in u.s. history. 38-year-old chris kyle was killed yesterday along with a second man at a gun range near ft. worth, texas. these are pictures of kyle taken from the security company he founded after leaving the navy. the gunman accused of killing kyle has been identified as eddie ray routh. he is in custody facing two counts of capital murder. earlier i spoke with one of kyle's friends, jason kos, about the man he called a war hero. >> he and a friend took a marine that was suffering from ptsd to a gun range to shoot and as a way that he always did giving back and, you know, it was certainly him taking his time to help, again, help war heroes. >> he had quite a reputation in the field as one of the most lethal snipers out there. how did he handle that? >> you know, he viewed, chris viewed it as his job and he was protecting his brothers, frankly. he as a man was quite contrary to that because he was incredibly loving father and charismatic and really caring person. so, it's quite a contrast from what he

-defense navy captain gave us his take on what china's denial means moving forward. >> japanese leaders should be happy because chinese defense officials deny using fire-control radar which can direct missiles. this shows china agrees with japan that using the type of radar is potentially dangerous. admitting to use fire-control radar would have invited international criticism, proving exactly what happened in the east china sea in january has turned out to be difficult. japanese defense analysts spent a week going over electronic data. in the end they concluded that chinese navy did use weapons radar. they can prove the radar came from a chinese ship but they cannot prove without a doubt where the destroyer was when the radar locked on happened or even when it happened. it's possible to damp with this kind of data that's why chinese officials say japanese got it wrong. what can we take from the outcome of this instance is that chinese leaders will likely prohibit the military from using weapons radar from now on. but they cannot stop all of aggressive behavior towards japan. communist party l

a former navy s.e.a.l., chris kyle and his friend chad littlefield were shot and killed in ft. worth texas. the man who pulled the trigger is a veteran who kyle may have been trying to help with ptsd. susan candiotti joins us live with more. what do we know about how this happened? >> well, got some brand new information during the press conference. first of all, we learned about an alleged confession. and police say they think they also have found the murder weapon, when they describe as a semiautomatic handgun that was found at the suspect's house. let's back up a little bit. after the double shooting at that gun lodge, police say the suspected shooter who's 25-year-old eddie ray ralph took off in kyle's pickup truck. then they said that he went to his sister's house and told her and his brother what had happened, and then left that house. that's when the sister called the police. police put out an all points bulletin and tracked ralph, the suspect to his own house. now, the home was ringed, according to what one police lieutenant told me, with at least a dozen police officers. they trie
